Great Price - Computer Components

Bought for our new HTPC. Installed on ASRock Fatality B450 Gaming ITX/ac AM4 motherboard as it supports this processor out of the box (but only 200GE, not 220GE or 240GE), no BIOS update needed. Nevertheless, I updated the BIOS to version 1.70. Works perfectly. If you are new to the AMD platform, install the AMD chipset drivers first and then the GPU Adrenaline drivers. Don't worry about all-in-one packages, IMO. In terms of CPU performance, I've noticed spikes in CPU usage of up to 70% when I'm surfing, watching Youtube, or installing software. So don't expect too much from him. On the other hand, for casual gaming (Rocket League gaming levels, mind you) it works pretty well I have to say. I expect it will work even better with older games (but not GTA IV for example - 30fps on medium/nearly high settings, but GTA is known to be CPU intensive so this shouldn't surprise anyone). 4K Youtube video hardware decoding works fine but uses 30-60% of the GPU and CPU usage is minimal (less than 15%). I've been using it with the stock cooler for a few days and it worked great despite being installed in a fairly small In-Win IW-MS04-01 ITX case (there's not much room). However, I spent money on a Noctua NH-L9a AM4 cooler. Works even better. So in terms of CPU performance and price (although we paid a premium price of $61 for the 200GE), give it a try (especially if you can get it for $50). However, plan to replace it with 2200G in (near) future. It was too cheap to pay $35 more for 2200G. Not too shabby though. highlighted.
