Camera and monitor work great and just what I need!

Note I haven't tried it at night, so I couldn't see night vision 10 years ago: I had brain surgery for a brain tumor. I've already lost sight in both eyes. By the time the surgery was complete, I couldn't see left, but I could see perfectly right: limited vision and no depth perception. After the operation, it was difficult for me to keep reverse gear. Back then we had a setup with a rear camera (not the one we're considering) but it was difficult to set up and use. We gave up and I thought of everything I could to avoid backing down. Today: We recently got a new "used" car and the rear visibility was even worse than our previous cars. So I wanted to try again with a reversing camera. The DoHonest V29 HD 1080P 7-inch split-screen digital wireless backup camera was comparatively much easier to set up than what we tried a decade ago. The instructions are easy to follow. Yes there is some installation work but it was very doable and only took about an hour. It is equipped with Wi-Fi, so you no longer have to run connecting cables to the monitor. The image on the monitor is very sharp and clear. This is a radical improvement over the system we tried ten years ago. I love that you can adjust the guides to fit the edges of your car. Leading lines give a sense of depth even on a flat screen. There's a learning curve if this is your first backup camera, but we only installed it a few days ago and I'm already able to reverse park with no problems.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful
