This was our first magnet and it was a great introduction to magnet fishing. The cable will essentially never break. I will tell you - you don't need 100 feet of cable - we bought this magnet package for it - but have since realized 66 feet is plenty.We've found all sorts of cool stuff with this magnet. Be advised that the double-sidedness means you get about 1/2 the power on each side - but unless you're picking up safes, you should be fine. I picked up a piece of a broken dock complete with wood with it.Good value, tons of fun.
