I ordered the D120 that is advertised as a 4.72 inch magnet. The reality is that the magnet is actually 3.56 inches and surrounded by .52 inches of metal around the circumference (about 4 times as thick as what is pictured in the listing photos and 4 times as thick as what is typical of similar fishing magnets). That means that the magnet is barely 75% of it's listed size and the rest of the size is exaggerated by cheap steel to make the magnet seem larger. Additionally, I am far from impressed

I watched some Youtube videos on magnet fishing, and thought it would be fun to try. Magnets vary from 100 to 1000 pound so I thought I would split the difference and go with 500. This a very strong magnet! Out of the box, I stuck a pair of pliers to it and could not pull it straight off. Had to work it off sideways which was hard.Very pleased with the price and quality. If you find an old army tank in the river, you might not be able to pull it loose. Use a strong cord.

Really powerful magnet with a durable housing and eye-bolt. Be careful where you set it down--I put mine down on my table saw without thinking, and had to exercise some ingenuity to get it loose again.

These are kinda weak. I have significantly smaller magnets that pull much harder. I would put these on par with a ceramic magnet of the same size rather than rare earth mags.The steel base, epoxy bonding, and eye all seem to be good quality. Seems like they just went cheap with the magnet material.

This magnet is not very strong for its size. When you take the screw out of the middle and look down the center the reason why is obvious. Most of this thing is not magnet at all. The metal case holding the magnet is very thick. The actual magnet itself is maybe 5mm thick.

So I got the magnet today, to be honest with you I was expecting something a bit stronger since they said that it supposed to lift 650lbs, what a joke you're lucky if this thing lifts 50 to 80lbs.I put it in my work Van next to my other magnets and it was easy to pull out the metal plate from my Van. We just got a new roof and I have 3 dogs who roll around in the yard all the time so I wanted to make sure I picked up as many nails as I could.This magnet worked very well for the job.I attached a 3ft dog leash to it and swung it like a pendulum in 8ft spans, 3-5 inches from the ground.It even got up nails that had been buried long before the roof was replaced.

Works fine so far. Even though it came with a lock washer I still decided to out some thread locker on it. Have taken it out twice and it works well enough that I got a couple fishing reels the first go round! Also, the build quality seems nice and stout!

Funny that "Easy to remove" is a feature that Revain wants to rate. I gave it 1 star because it's hard to remove. Isn't that the point of a strong magnet? If you put a sock over it before you stick it to something then it is easier to remove.

I purchased this to use for magnet fishing. So far it has been incredibly strong, durable and price cautious. Came very quickly as well, would highly recommend!
