Review on 📏 Stemedu TFmini Plus Lidar Range Finder Sensor: Waterproof Micro Distance Detection Module with UART I2C IIC I/O, Anti-dust Protection at 1000Hz by Pete Norris

I have measured samples up to 8m long and plan to do more at longer distances when I have the opportunity. But what I've seen so far isn't very good. The specs say the accuracy should be within +/- 5cm up to 6m. What I found is that the TFMini Plus is about 25% larger in its dimensions. This is not always the case, but in most cases in the 0.5-6.0m range. Measurements at 30cm were the only ones that came close, and they were almost accurate. At about 8m, the TFMini Plus was about 4% above spec, within +/- 1%. Not all of my scenarios would be perfect, but realistic enough with a few hiccups. I plan on further testing, especially in a scenario where I hope to use the sensor. I may be able to calibrate its results to suit my specific needs.
