This heater is ideal for a small greenhouse. The bottom line is to hang the sensor in the middle of the range and hang the probe at the level you want to set the temperature at. What you also need from the plants inside is balance of the location, as some may want it to be college or warmer. They will never have the same temperature inside, ie the probe dictates the temperature controller on/off. I even bought a residential weather unit with a sensor as a backup to check the temperature and the unit. Many people say it doesn't work properly, but they don't know how to use it properly. If using it in a temporary greenhouse, use blocks around the perimeter to hold the weight so cold air doesn't get in or the air isn't properly regulated. Preparation is key
