People buy down winter coats for a reason. Down is the best insulator and is also lightweight. Synthetic materials just don't stand up to impact. I love this duvet and how it keeps me warm. In terms of warmth, it is equivalent to two or three duvets without down. It's also soft, fluffy, and feels light, although the overall weight is actually surprisingly heavy. It's filled with fluff. That's high quality. Some things to note is that you cannot machine wash it. it needs to be spot cleaned or dry cleaned. When he first appears, you'll also need to fluff him up. The quilt is full of square sewn compartments, each with many feathers. These feathers are not fluffy and are not evenly distributed over each individual square. What I did was shake the blanket out on all four sides, then put it in the dryer for ten minutes, take it out and put it in the dryer for another ten minutes, and then shake it out on all four sides again. This fluffed it up drastically and distributed the feathers better. If you've never had a comforter, this is the best comforter you've ever had, period!
