Raking is definitely not one of my favorite things to do. The rake is not light and puts a lot of strain on your back. This item is very convenient for grabbing leaves (wet or dry), it is not as heavy as a rake and does not put much strain on your back during use. It has a good length, so it captures a large number of leaves. Of course there will be times when I'll still need to use a rake, but not as often now that I have this claw broom. I think this is a great value and I'm sure it will be useful in other tasks as well.
