The filter seems really nice and well built and worked fine for at least 6 weeks before it just couldn't be cleaned. I've tried cleaning it every 2-3 weeks as I know washable filters require extra maintenance and I have 2 cats and a dog and live in Colorado where there is a lot of surrounding wildfire smoke. The filter was quite dirty for the first 2 weeks of operation and I was able to clean it to almost the same condition as when it was delivered by following the recommended steps that came with the product. I cleaned it again after 16 days and couldn't get it as clean as the first time but it was mostly clean and I decided to let it run another 10 days before cleaning again. This time I managed to get it as clean as last time but not back to the original cleanliness. I was visiting family so I didn't clean it for another 20 days and this time it had trouble cleaning at all. After 3 attempts to run the air purifier through, I was able to get it clean enough where I thought it would work, but the air quality in my home was really getting worse and getting worse every day. A few days later I installed a disposable filter and through monitoring noticed an immediate improvement in air quality throughout the house. I tried and tried to clean the filter but to no avail as it got clean enough to be used again (see attached pictures). At that point I tried emailing the company and almost a month later I still haven't received a response from them. I've tried calling them many times but never got through to the person so the lifetime warranty doesn't seem to apply if you can't claim the warranty. As for the price of a filter, if it can't clean and lasts less time than disposable filters but costs more - am I really saving money or the environment by trying to reduce unnecessary waste? No, I do not know. I would not recommend this product and have no intention of purchasing any other. Remember that even if you keep cleaning it, you will inevitably throw that "lifetime filter" away for the first few months of use!
