Review on 🔌 Scosche SA69 Universal Speaker Adapter: Transform 6 x 9'' to 5.25''-6.5'' (Pair) by Nathan Issa

I purchased these adapters after being told by tech support from another site that they fit the front door panels of my 97 Dodge Ram. and be able to use 6.5 inch and 5.25 inch speakers. I bought a pair of 6.5" Pyle PLDV6K front door component speakers and they have impressed me. However, the Scosche SA69 adapter I purchased will not work with these speakers without a LARGE thread to alter the hole to allow the Pyle speakers to mount flush to the face of the adapter. The adapter also doesn't have holes that come close to the many holes in the Pyle speaker frame, so I have to make new holes and provide my own hardware to attach the speakers to the adapter. I also bought 5.25" Pyle speakers for the rear seats and used them out of curiosity to see if that size would fit. They are, and there are holes that match the mounting lugs on these speakers, but there is a significant air gap around the outer edge that allows sound pressure waves to travel from the front of the speaker to the rear and pretty much overwhelm the bass response they otherwise make could. Despite these shortcomings, I will be using them to install my 6.5" speakers as there is no other way to install them in the original 6x9 speaker holes in the doors. As for the quality of the adapter material, it's a good strong plastic, thick enough not to break easily and to withstand years of use. Buyers looking for an adapter that fits all 6.5" speakers just need to know UPDATE: After carefully centering the 6.5" speaker cutout template over the Scosche 6x9 adapters and again carefully After cutting out the bare minimum of plastic needed to mount the speakers, I found that the plastic was NOT as strong and durable as originally intended. After carefully tightening all the nuts and mounting bolts securing the speakers in place, I found a Hole where the plastic material basically broke into lots of little pieces making this hole completely unusable. I'll have to try and fix this with something like JB Weld or a similar known sturdy mat. Then reshape it and after that drill another mounting hole to effectively mount this speaker. If this extensive repair doesn't work, I will not buy another set of adapters and try again; I just buy a 1/8" thick aluminum plate and make new adapter plates out of it knowing that I won't have any problems with the brittle adapter material. In conclusion I would NOT recommend this adapter due to the extensive problems. I have tested and found how brittle the material of this adapter is when the customer decides that the adapter needs to be modified for their speakers, the fact that the material broke so easily makes me question even then if it would have held up even if I hadn't modified it that way should have done like I should have done.
