I've upgraded to a faster PC 3 times in the last few years and no longer need the 1394 (nothing I've had uses that protocol). When I dug up the old videocassettes from the dome (they deteriorate over time - the viewing cover will NOT fall off) I realized I had NOT digitized the old family vacation/event videos. I still have my old Sony Hanndicam with 1394 output but I couldn't get this log into my new computer. This PCIE card works well and allows me to digitize video before the tape falls apart.
