I am now changing my review based on what happened. The pens are very, very thin. After about 3 months in the car, the negative cable broke. The positive still works. I'm not happy with this, but I was at least able to convert it to use a backup tap. This works, but for some reason the mirror needs power. When installing this you NEED to know which pins in your connection are ground and power. If not, then you need to watch that. On the Honda Civic, these are brown (+) and black (-). Make the wiring first, then zip it up, and finally make the mount. It will fit most cars but you really want to be sure you are using the correct bolts. The Honda 16-18 mirror uses short screws but fits snugly. Also, if you try to tuck the probes under the actual connector on the back of the harness, they will fall out. You need to bend the wire harnesses and insert them at the top (it fits, it's just very, very tight. Here is the order you need to do: 1. Locate the positive and negative wires. 2. Connect the power wires to the adapter 3 Make sure they work 4. Secure the cable 5. Install the bracket with any loose screws 6. Tighten the screws on the part that attaches to the mirror 7. Connect the radar detector to the bracket 8 .Slide the detector around until it is in position 9. Tighten all
