Raising expectations is the top priority. This is not a small air conditioner. It works by passing air through a water-soaked filter, cooling the air through evaporation, and blowing cold air around you. Sounds simple, but there's more. For example, if you are in a very humid environment, the system will not work. If the air you're trying to cool isn't that hot (like 70 in my opinion), the performance of this device is the same as a regular fan. However, in dry environments of 80 degrees or more, the air gets noticeably cooler. This is a small device designed for a desktop. So unless you keep it very close to you, it has limited indoor or outdoor use. I could use this in a beach pop up shelter but even that would expand the capabilities of the device. So in short. It works if you understand the limitations of evaporative cooling and don't want it running 24/7 (the tank isn't THAT big). Easy to use which is a plus so I'm happy with it as a small personal device.
