I love this chimney! It looks nice and smooth. Comes with a remote control, but you can also control everything from the control panel on the front of the fireplace. After a few seconds, the panel will turn off to make it look more realistic. Looking at this I thought I could switch between logs and crystals and different colors. But actually you have to choose one or the other. You need to unscrew the front glass panel and insert either logs or crystals. I have now decided on magazines. It has multiple color options which my kids love. I mostly use realistic looking flames. Heat works great too. I haven't used it often, but I will in the winter. It's nice and quiet. Installation was easy. We simply put it in the fireplace box, plugged it in and we're good to go. Has a timer which is good so I can just forget about it and not waste electricity. I'm glad I got it. I was skeptical at first, afraid it would look fake like other models. But I don't regret the purchase. LOVE IT!
