For more than ten years, I've owned 8 ohm JBL E60 speakers. They were initially given an AV Receiver Pioneer 714. As a result, he was unable to handle them and could not even swing them to bass. The audio was subpar. Nobody dared to alter. But with time, he started to misbehave, so I made the decision to alter it. After much reading, I settled on the Yamaha stereo receiver/integrated amplifier models 201 and 301. I was told by the vendors to take the stereo receiver. But, I preferred an analog stereo receiver. I'm glad I bought 301; I'm glad I did! Even though I don't have professional music hearing, I could immediately tell a change in how my speakers sounded. I don't regret my decision. The signal is routed through a network player with flac files before reaching the receiver. If you have a stereo system, only an amplifier should be chosen if you have to pick between receivers and integrated amplifiers. Take no advice from anyone! The receiver, if you want to watch movies! Nevertheless, my amplifier is linked to the TV via optics, and movies have the most amazing sound output to the speakers! Incidentally, the pure direct mode is noteworthy - I was pleasantly surprised! 100 W is enough for me, the maximum volume knob is turned 1/4 or 1/3 - I'm afraid to turn it further, because I'm afraid for the speakers already. It's a beast, the power amplifier. I don't regret my purchase.
