The best and fastest way to cut holes in drywall for electrical boxes. 1 Large Old Job Multi-Tool Saw LV & Metal

Wow! What a great tool. Cut a perfect double hole through 1/2 of the drywall and don't tear the paper on the insulation behind the wall. Works exactly how you think. I used a spirit level to mark the hole before cutting. I checked his level with a standard level and he was spot on. I haven't tried a single saw yet. The 2 seat saw worked great for the old low voltage shutdown job. Update: I've tried a 1-slot saw and it's too big for an old working 1-slot low voltage box (2-1/8" x 3-5/8") and an old working metal box (2" "x 3" ). The old working low voltage box required a lot of tuning and barely covered the hole. I had to cut a hole to support an old working metal box. I have to cut them by hand or order a smaller single row saw. Overall I think this is a great product that saves a lot of time.

Pros
  • Requires 18v, 20v or wired oscillating multi-tool (some require adapters) - Note: Will not work on 12v systems
Cons
  • Expensive
