I have used many different types of contour gauges over the years and this set is one of the nicest plastic sets I have ever used. PROS: - Individual pins are thick enough not to warp when you slide them in place - Curved locking lever locks everything in place very well CONS: - As with any plastic kit, the increased thickness of the plastic pins means you they can't just deploy it on the spot. You usually have to wiggle it slightly when you press it to make the pins slide back. Steel sensors tend to be a lot easier to push forward, although they also tend to be a lot more expensive. I run my finger along the back of the pens and press them hard against the shape I'm tracing before blocking the sensor and pulling it out.
