I needed something to control the relative speed of the two motors so I bought two of these after struggling with the more expensive (and less feature rich) options. So far I've been very happy. They have a slow soft start, maintain their duty cycle settings, offer local on/off control, allow me to set the PWM frequency and I haven't been able to kill them yet. I'm running them at 24V at around 1A, which is well within their limits, which probably helps. Note that on/off control is always enabled at power-up and unlike other settings, its state is not retained during a power-up cycle. My only complaint is that the encoder on the handle can be a little touchy, but that hasn't stopped me from ordering a third one.
