Packaging does not inspire confidence, instructions are missing and my device has adhesive in places near the seams. It feels a bit cheesy. For some reason it was a bit difficult to get a foothold (where the Garmin snaps right away, how easy). However, it is on and the USB port I tried (with the cable that came with it) seems to charge my phone. My phone is an iPhone 8 Plus with an Urban Armor Gear case. It fits with very little extra space. While I do complain about the questionable build quality, everything seems pretty solid once it's in place. If you are a BMW GS/GSA type there are additional parts in the kit which may confuse you. I think it's for other bikes. With the GS/GSA, simply remove the Garmin and snap the head unit from this kit onto the mount (it can help to look out of the windshield and you may have to wiggle it a little before it snaps into place). Then use the included USB cable or your favorite cable and Bob will be your uncle.
