This does an excellent job of quietly heating my cold home office.My office is approximately 12 by 15 feet - so a little over 180 square feet. This is small enough to fit under a corner of my desk, but warm enough to keep my feet warm and generally raise the temperature of the room to a livable level.My wife had a small coil and fan type space heater, which she donated to me - but that thing was loud! I could not work with its rattling fan and its motor switching on and off all day. This oil-filled radiator type is absolutely silent, except for a click when it turns on or off. I don't find the click loud enough to be annoying, and most of the time I don't notice it at all.The cord is black, and approximately 4 feet long.The only assembly necessary is the snapping on of the two plastic feet. The feet do a good job of stabilizing the heater - I haven't had any issues with it tipping over or being knocked over.This is a very small heater, roughly the height of a chair seat. It really doesn't have the surface area to be able to heat a space much larger than 200 square feet or so. If you need to heat anything larger than a small bedroom or office, you'd either need a few of these, or a bigger heater.
