I bought this for a drawer that wasn't within the recommended sizes. My drawer is 3 inches deep. I was aware of this before purchasing the cutlery as the seller clearly stated the recommended drawer depth on the purchase page. Nonetheless, I am very satisfied with this item. It's well made, takes up half the space of the other holders. Even though I can't use the 2 smaller side slots (which I think I can, but I can use the 3 main holders. They're marked with spoon symbols, knives, and forks. However, I placed mine so that the handles were in the mount itself, with the ends facing out. Partly to see what's in the mount, but also because of the shape of my silver. If you're okay with that, you can Do not use the side by side area holder, this fits nicely in a 3" box. In my opinion this cutlery organizer is amazing. It was exactly what I was looking for and I couldn't be happier.
