They are very useful when the bottom of the furniture you are attaching them to is rectangular. I used two of these for the underside of the queen headboard that attaches to the queen bed frame with wheels. Nearly perfect in width and length, the rectangular sliders make it easy to roll the bed back and forth and left to right across the carpet to clean and reach areas under or behind the bed such as power outlets etc. I used the other two (four included) along with two leftovers from a previous purchase, paired with 2 1/2" square sliders for the bottom of my dresser, which has extra large triangular legs. This allows me to place the dresser on the moving back and forth and side to side on the carpeted bedroom floor If I had known about sliders before moving into this apartment I would have used them under my computer desk filing cabinet etc etc. They are very useful and inexpensive items that make life a lot make it easier.
