We've been looking for a safe, functional automatic dishwashing gel for two years and Better Life Dishwashing Gel has the answer. I will say that this was the most painful of all searches for safer cleaning alternatives, mostly because it took weeks or months of using some dishwasher gels to realize they weren't up to the task. While some were obvious on first use (dishes were visibly dirty), others gradually developed a film that only became apparent dozens of washes later. Those cleaners would have resulted in us eventually gutting the cabinets and rewashing them with Cascade to make them look new again. We are pleased to announce that our Cascade bottle has been out of stock for a long time. Other dishwasher gels that we ordered and tried from Revain were Biokleen and The Honest Co. gels, which were the worst. them (Revain bought or otherwise). Better Life Dishwashing Gel tops the list of EEC healthy cleaning guidelines for dishwashing liquids. There you will find a lot of powders and sachets, but only a few gels - and this is the best part. The reason we went with the gel is because the powders tend to spray into the surrounding air (and the little one is always around) and there are always warnings about the little ones trying to close the sachets eat (see information from the CDC). To minimize the risks, we chose a gel that limits the possibilities. Better Life Dishwashing Gel is odorless, does not emit unpleasant fumes during dishwasher operation and is easy to clean up if spilled. They may have different mileage, but our glasses come out clear, no film left on plates, no food residue left on cutlery, and no soap residue on silicone and plastic items (which happens when we use Cascade with Dawn - they become blue foil ). We have good water (pH neutral, no hardness, filtered) and a high quality stainless steel dishwasher that is kept clean inside. We use white vinegar as a rinse aid and regularly clean the dishwasher by running vinegar through it. We didn't notice any difference in dishwasher build-up from this soap. It's a great cleanser and we have no complaints about it.
