I've used this to seal gutters and a roof flashing , as well as for an emergency repair on some rotted wood. As with anything that needs to be applied, the surface has to be clean and dry.We had a leaky window sill on the shed - it would be a major project to replace, and well, it's the shed. I wire brushed off all the lose crud and globbed this on to in. It took a few coats, but I fully sealed the wood and stopped the leak. Not the best solution, but it's a good temporary fix.The flashing was more of a preventative measure. There was a slight gap so I Used a DISPOSABLE bristle brush to fill the gap. Again it took a few applications, but when I was dode the gap was well plugged. The gutters had a leaky seam. Again, it took a few applications. I found that making a dam around the seam and applying it pretty thick worked well.The issue is that you have to wait for it to cure fully before applying the next coat - and it takes 24-48 hours to cure. So 4 coats could take a week. A week without rain, etc. - so some advance planning may be needed. Once opened I've found a can lasts no more than a few months, so you need to use it pretty quickly. Make a list of projects and do them all at once!
