Review on 🐾 PlexiDor Bronze Performance Pet Doors for Dogs and Cats by Mike Griffin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Update This is my 3rd plexiglass, 4th dog door

The first dog door was homemade, cutting a hole in a boarded up basement window and making interior and exterior doors from different materials until I found a puppy did not die in the relatively warm Salt Lake City, Utah. At the next house, in relatively cold and snowy Northwood, Wisconsin, I bought a Plexidor wall mount. This was good news as no random squirrels, mice, skunks, porcupines, meth makers or other rabble would get in, and dogs like to stick their heads in and peek out from time to time. Replaced the original with a new one in a different color when I was replacing the siding and siding on this house. I bought this door unit for my recent home on the definitely cold, windy, snowy Lake Superior south shore (there is no wall door anywhere else I would try to somehow use the original door from the recent home as it is expensive). The only problem I had was that when the dogs were approaching 13, one of them refused to use it. However, this is not the fault of the door itself, rather the backing becomes weak and this will be a problem with any door that does not open at ground level. I like that it's transparent if I keep it clean. . They say not to use every possible cleaning product but what I found to clean it without hours of work was Clorox wipes and then water and it didn't seem to cause any permanent damage. But I don't clean it too often, so regular use may cause damage, not sure. And maybe regular cleaning makes the water more efficient lol. I love that you can unscrew the lid to keep the dogs inside if needed. When a dog had knee surgery, it took several months. Locking without a lid will just confuse them, so I don't see any point in this feature other than that it would be quicker than putting a lid on if you're taking the dogs out for the day and have security issues or something. In sub-zero temperatures my second froze through the wall around the edges and generally let air through, but probably no more than any other dog door and certainly a lot less than my homemade double shutters no matter what. The first leaked and iced up less, so the installation probably has something to do with that as well. I've paid others to install all three. I made my original myself, but for the money I didn't want to mess it up. It's too early to talk about how the door model handles cold weather as we've been blessed with warmer weather this year and the first snow fell this weekend. No colder than it is outside my windows at the moment I feel outside the dog door, so it seems to seal better than the wall mounted dog door has been so far. If it gets worse later I will update it. Я никогда не получал ничего бесплатно и тратил свои с трудом заработанные деньги на все эти плексидоры и все остальное, что я получил на Revain, поэтому, если я удосужусь что-то просмотреть, это потому, что мне это либо очень нравится, либо действительно не pleases. it.After several years with this dog door I can say that it really works, doesn't let air through when installed in a metal door even when it's around -25 outside. More air escapes around the door itself than through/around the dog door. And no frosting like my models through the wall in my other house. Absolute quality product!
