Review on Renewed ARRIS Surfboard SB8200-Rb DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem by Brian Avila

Great work, but check your ISP first!

UPDATE [7/27/2020] As of July 23rd this year, my ISP, Optimum by Altice, is promoting DOCSIS 3.1 Downstream, giving me the opportunity to experience this product more than before. With a plan of 400↓/35↑ Mbps when all systems are green, this thing works like a beast! I also recommend that after you receive and power on this updated product, you do a reset (30-30-30 if you like) to allow the updated product to receive new signals from a clean slate. This seems especially useful if the updated product was used by another ISP that you don't know about yourself, but it never hurts. " They will say this after over ten years of using their products and then be assured that you are finally buying it instead of renting it. That's great, but know that you're getting a great cable broadband Need an ISP to work with. ! Although this modem is not officially supported by Altice's Optimum (known as Altice's SuddenLink in the US Southwest), this modem is very powerful, outperforms an ISP plan by another 10% and was there from the start to very reliable!the reason for buying this Arris SB8200 modem was to stop paying rent for an all in one modem router.I can't control my router settings or eMTA and regain control of my home network starting at the edge is working as well as the ISP network mine gets packets loss from the host as soon as they leave the product so this doesn't solve the ISP problems I leave it anyway by bel ate because less money goes into my incompetent ISP's pocket. (PS: Altice's Optimum doesn't really support DOCSIS 3.1 in all areas, but the modem connects to its DOCSIS 3.0 network without any problems.)

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Annoying
