Why I bought Instant Pot IP-DUO Plus60 9-in-1 Multifunction Pressure Cooker 6 Qt

Instant Pot IP-DUO Plus60 9-in-1 Multifunction Pressure Cooker 6 Qt - I Have Been Me I've wanted a PC for a long time and have done a lot of research. I was originally leaning towards PPCXL because my cousin has it, but I did some more research and settled on it while waiting for Duo Plus to come out. So as I'm the fourth reviewer here are some of my thoughts going through the decision to purchase the DUO Plus, plus some thoughts on IP and PPCXL and other considerations on accessories, size etc. So far: I've only got one few days but overall I am satisfied, I have plenty of online recipe support and help in choosing a mail pc for your needs. ** Why I chose the Instant Pot (IP) duo60 Plus - three new preset buttons. - Cake, egg, sterilized. It also had a yogurt feature which other IPs have but some other manufacturers don't. Large LCD screen with digital display. The mute button for the nightly beeps when cooking yoghurt etc. can be turned on or off at any time. Start delay for 24 hours and keep warm for 10 hours. Lid Stand (Right or Left Side) ** Why I Chose IP vs PPCXL – Food Grade 304 (15/8) Stainless Steel Pan vs Teflon Coated Stainless Steel. I felt like I could clean and handle the pot however I wanted and not have to worry about scratches and unusable utensils. Yes, you can buy a replacement teflon inner pot, but after spending over $100 I really don't think I need to buy a replacement inner pot. Some FB group users like Teflon cookware but there are also many complaints so it may be due to handling but every Teflon cookware I have ever had has been thrown away due to the coating peeling off. The IP came with some accessories that you pay for at PPCXL. It had a stand with handles, a condensate collector, a rice paddle and spoon, and a couple of introductory manuals/cookbooks. Free shipping for IP. The PPCXL site was asking $29.99. The buttons on the PPCXL site weren't exactly legible, so I thought they were hiding the lack of selection on the preset buttons. Also confusion about what you bought - regular PPC or PPCXL. Much of their detail applies to PPCXL, but not necessarily when selecting items for your shopping cart. The yogurt button is in IP but not in PPCXL. The PI allows you to take the milk to 185 PI, cool it down to 120 (I use the quick rinse method) and then put it into yogurt mode for incubation (8-12 hours). PPCXL doesn't have that and you wrap it up and put it in the oven. The IP is guaranteed for 1 year and I opted for Square Trade's 4 year warranty for an additional $14.37. No franchise, no hidden fees, no shipping, transferable. PPC has a 60-day money-back/replacement policy. After that, you'll have to pay $24.99 for shipping for up to one year. Their extended warranty is $15 for 3 years. In the slow cooker mode, there are buttons for low, medium and high heat. IP has a + and - sign to increase or decrease the time. Others require you to select a preset and keep clicking to increase the time. You cannot decrease time. The overall ratings are IP 4.7 and PPCXL 4.1. I read a lot of comments from verified buyers and PPC owners seemed a lot more upset about the customer service. I looked at a lot of reviewers who make a living from it, or at least blog, and they leaned towards IP. actually answering the question or referring to what you know is negative. There are more IPs on the market and most recipes cater to them in a "preset button" sense. The IP has left and right handles that keep your lid tilted. I'm in the pressure cooker group - there are many complaints about third-party instructions, a quick start guide, etc. Lots of issues with lids sticking, lack of pressure, etc, and I really don't see that for the Instant Pot family of PCs. **Size - I measured my 6 liter slow cooker, here is what I ordered. This is a normal size for 2 people, but since you can only fill it 2/3 full when pressure cooking, you need to take that into account. I count on the roast, I do the meat first, then the vegetables. The 6 liter container holds four liters of sterilization jars. **Accessories - What else can you buy? I have an OXO Good Grips steamer with a retractable handle and a pack of color coded 3 IP rings (dark for savory meats, orange for desserts and I will be using clear for yogurt). I've read that they are dishwasher safe but not 100% sure as they can retain flavors. For my next order, I'm reviewing 2 cookbooks (the $9 IP Electric Pressure Cooker Cookbook and the $12 IP Obsession). There are many Facebook group pages you can join for recipes and online reviewers as well. Just type what you're doing followed by "in pressure cooker" or "in IP". I'm also buying IP silicone gloves for easy removal of the hot pot as I'll be making yogurt ($10). would be the only reason, but based on the above I'd probably just buy a 2nd instant pot. I hope this is helpful. I did a lot of research and felt the need to share it. I'll update this as I use it and get more questions. Update 08/09/2017 - I've been using my IP for a few months now. I often use a steamer basket and stand. I make a "bowl" out of strong foil and put a rack on top when cooking a whole chicken and this makes the rack easier to clean. I bought a simple IP glass lid for the slow cooker and yogurt mode. I don't use my extra rings because I use a regular yogurt lid, so there's no point in swapping out the rings. I didn't have silicone gloves. I realized that I don't need them. My inner pot does not heat up in yoghurt mode. I like 2 cookbooks. I use Bar Keeper Friend to clean the pot. Very happy with my IP-DUO Plus 60 so far. I'm in the FB-PC group and don't see any complaints about the IP. Very happy with my purchase. Updated 12/29/2017. So I bought a 3L Instant Pot on Black Friday because I felt like I was going to have twins. It's big and has a great capacity, and especially my 2 liters of yoghurt which I make at least once a week so it doesn't tie up my 6 liter IP. We are wintering in Florida and I was able to carry 6 liters in the truck and now I have 3 liters. I cooked an entire Thanksgiving dinner for Christmas (Irma got in the way of our renovation last month) in two pots. In the future I can only take 3 liters because it fits better in my camper cupboards.
