Review on Stern Saver Transducer Mounting System by Evan Hernandez

This works on an aluminum boat. Good product. Saved me from drilling holes! What I couldn't find were reviews from people who have installed this on an aluminum boat. So here is my rating. I installed a strict lifeguard on my 15ft G3 rivet boat last week. The hardest part was sanding the spot where I installed it. They grind the paint most often onto bare aluminum! The instructions show how to do this using the included sandpaper and template. After sanding that spot I followed the rest of the instructions and it worked great. It's been a week now and it hasn't fallen off. I even pulled on it and tried to tear it off. One thing should be noted. Most aluminum boats are not 100% flat. There are ripples in the aluminum that prevent you from installing the transom completely flush on the underside of the transom. So you have to move the cutter a bit to find the best place to attach it. Also, be careful and pay attention to the position of the rivets on your boat, they will get in the way. I hope it all made sense. Why only four stars. nothing is ever perfect.
