Review on 🐠 XINYOU Corner Filter Aquarium Fish Tank Internal Air Driven Filter with Media XY-2008 for AquaCity by Kim Adams

Running two of these with a Tetra Whisper 20 air pump using a metal divider with independent valves and Penn Plax tubing. The hose had to be stretched a bit before I could work it on the filter. (A sanitized Phillips screwdriver is enough for stretching) I also added a buffing pad (100 micron, thin white layer in the photo) but they work fine without. Beneficial bacteria thrive on the biological environment below. (Brown slimy substance) Cleaning instructions: - Of the 2 filters in the aquarium, I clean at most 1 per week to better maintain biological filtration - I only clean the pads (not the biocarrier) - Don't forget to clean the outside of the air duct you use from Connect to the filter from time to time and wipe it clean. My approach to cleaning is: - Close the valve of the filter to be cleaned (so water doesn't rise up the pipe) - Pull the filter out of the water - Tilt the filter to drain the water until only the biocarrier remains in the hose Water - Disconnect the air hose from the air filter and set it aside (without water) - Lay the filter on a clean surface, grasp where the large outlet hose is inserted and pull up and sideways - to the side while holding it Pull out lower part upper part - clean outlet pipe thoroughly (possibly with cotton swab) and upper part - clean pads thoroughly (no soap, just spray with water and wring) - assemble, connect air hose - open air valve, dive Put the filter in water - tilt it side to side and shake to fill water and drown
