the Eco Plush floor pads I bought were a 1/2 in thick and absolutely perfect ! I needed them for several reasons - (1) I wanted something that would prevent anything spilled from damaging the floors underneath (2) I wanted extra cushion in my bedroom and living room for the great rich carpet feel you get in hotels and BnB's when you just sink into the carpets (3) I wanted to mask just how creaky the floor boards are - you can't take a step without the floors moaning, I wanted to block that sound as much as possible. (4) I wanted a buffer for the sounds from my apartment, I just got a 65" tv for my living room and I have 2 dogs that rough house like 2 MMA wrestlers - body slamming each other, the works .The people that live downstairs told me they hear nothing :)And now I've got rugs that are cushioned well enough I think I could get a good night's sleep on them :)
