I was looking for an eco-friendly alternative to a sponge. It's adequate, but I'm not blown away. The first impression when I open them is that I could easily make it myself (except that you can only buy hemp in quantities that would allow you to start your own business and I already have enough yarn in my house ). Underwear so my sponge/petri dish problem is solved. There is enough mop in the pack to always have a clean one on hand. They also dry fairly quickly after use. It's prickly enough to clean simple things, but not strong enough for more. Also, it doesn't hold dish soap very well, so it seems like it uses up more soap than a cloth or sponge. I'm actually much happier with the wool knit washcloth they sent as a giveaway. This uses less soap and cleans almost as well. The combination of these two things does the trick.
