Doesn't work

I gave 2 stars because it didn't work. Of course not sure if this is a product or my needs. I need to convert my new Roku HDMI to an AV/RCA box to connect to my old Akai plasma TV. I put the RCA cables in the same holes as my other Roku box but got no signal! I used Smart TV to activate the box so I know it's not a Roku box. I am in the process of buying a new TV as I have no idea how to get the new set top box to work on my old plasma. Pooh. I wish I could find an answer
