Black rubber spots on the mat

I would like to give this product a higher rating because after solving the problem below it is good value for money. Compared to other mat cutters, it has an affordable price and is capable of producing well-cut mats. Unfortunately, a component that probably cost the manufacturer less than a dollar lowered my estimate. The cutter uses a length of rubber grommet that fits into a groove machined on the underside of the long push rod to prevent denting of the surface of mats loaded under the rod during the cutting process. The idea is good, but the implementation sucks. The sealing ring is made of black elastomer that leaves indelible marks on the mat surface. After messing up the first two sheets I cut, I unscrewed the four screws that attach the rod to the base and pulled out the cable O-ring. Wiping first with a paper towel and then with a microfiber cloth did not remove the remaining black finish on the cable. Didn't wash it in warm water with mild detergent. The elastomer has degraded, likely due to age or exposure to light or chemicals. I threw it away and reassembled the board but when I pressed on the cut mats they left slight dents. I finally replaced the fresh 3/32" food grade viton (white) o-ring cord and now it works perfectly. Users don't have to do this for the device to work; Logan needs a cheap upgrade. In any case, I give the product 3 stars and recommend buyers to stick and put on a few pieces of matte cardboard,

Pros
