I ordered this item for a new car that I was planning to buy. I finally got my car, a 2021 GMC Arcadia Denali. I finally installed it, but after the return period had expired. When I first left the car for about 3 days, I found that the battery was dead. Called roadside assistance and they came to shove me and the guy told me to turn off all electronics before connecting the battery. I disconnected the device from OBD and made sure all elements are off and the car starts fine. I drove at 45+ mph for about half an hour to make sure the battery was fully charged. I made all the switches etc back to normal and reconnected the device to the OBD port. The next morning "BATTERY LOW"? I got another boost from a recently purchased NOCO GB40 Boost Plus that I ordered from Revain for $99.95 and left the OBD box disabled and the car no longer has any low battery issues. I reconnected the OBD device to the port and used the old DVR for the test. This was done to get rid of the car and the new cameras I had installed. The camera never lost power even after the ACC expired. I then cut the cable from the OBD box and plugged the installed cameras into my console's power port and I had no more issues with battery or camera operation. It was very difficult to power my cameras, so I cut the old OBD module cable and used it to connect to the outlet. Summary: The switch on the OBD box I bought does not turn off the 5V output when in any position (it outputs 5V when plugged in regardless). Also, the advertised battery discharge circuitry doesn't work the right way (won't turn off when the battery power is below 11.6) or isn't available in this device. Did they mix it up and send the wrong style? Doubtful but possible. Anyway, don't waste your kingdom coin on this item, it's junk!
