Review on Say Goodbye To Chapped Lips With E.L.F. Ride Or Die Lip Balm In Cheeky Cherry! by Steve Beaumont

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not quite ride-or-die status, but almost!

I love a lot of ELF products, so when this appeared in my product suggestions here on Revain, I thought I'd give it a try. I purchased Grapefruit. It smells wonderful, the color is lovely - a sheer fuchsia - and it feels great on my lips. It says that it's a balm, but it's definitely a gloss. It's not sticky and it wears pretty well for a gloss, but it needs to be reapplied after eating or drinking. The taste is pleasant, but I wouldn't eat it (ha ha).The problem with this, which should be an easy fix, is the packaging. The tube is a standard ointment tube. AN. OINTMENT. TUBE. A blunt-ended ointment tube. There's no great way to apply this. If you try to apply it from the tube, you get a hunk of product sitting in the middle of your lip. If you put it on your finger and apply that way, you have a really messy application (and with Covid literally everywhere, who wants to use their fingers to apply lip gloss? Hard pass.) I've taken to using a lip brush to apply this, but that's not something that I carry in my purse, so despite me loving this gloss, it only gets used when I'm home. If this came in a tube with an angled applicator end, it would be a legit five star, ride-or-die product that I'd use all the time and keep stocked in multiple colors. As-is, it earns four stars and takes a back seat to NYX's Butter Gloss.
