I've recently received some great Blu-ray releases from Arrow Video in the UK and quickly found that I needed either a region-free player or a region-free player for some films I would enjoy -2 import players need to get in the future and I already have. The player I bought was "like new" from Bombay Electronics (reportedly has scratches on the player but looks good overall) and arrived fairly quickly. how fast an IL packet can be in CA with normal delivery. The player looks and works well so far, remote works and came with two working AA batteries included literature with instructions on how to change region and a warranty (void where changes are honored) with my info on the back just in case a return and the like, as well as the actual manual for the player. Unfortunately, my player didn't come with an HDMI cable despite the listing clearly saying so, so I had to buy an external cable out of the bag, which is my only major complaint so far. Maybe they forgot to put it in the box before sealing it? The USB port on the front is covered but the tab connecting it seems fragile so I advise others to be careful. The second port on the back has no cover. In addition to the main HDMI connection, there is also an Internet LAN connection and a coax connection on the back. The drive tray itself feels a bit flimsy and fragile, and I have a feeling it could damage the internal mechanism that opens and closes it, or the tray itself if there is resistance in front of it (e.g. a closet door) . ), so I would advise anyone interested or who already has one to keep it open with nothing blocking it. I haven't used the internet much other than testing the features of Netflix and Youtube. Netflix seems to be doing well. A bit annoying as you CAN use the subtitles button to change/turn off the subtitles while the movie is playing, but it doesn't indicate that any action has taken place (e.g. if you press it during a scene without press dialog, it does this (don't say "English", "Español" or "Off". You would have to do this during the dialog to see changes). The Nextflix menu is a bit overloaded, but otherwise okay and you get used to it quickly. My test film loaded just fine, maybe a little slow for some, but I have my wireless transmitter on the other side of the house so it might just be me. The Youtube function, on the other hand, works. but the interface is very bad. I would only recommend using it if you don't have a mobile phone or a computer that can play Youtube. Navigation and search are cumbersome. Loading videos from YouTube was a little slow, but as mentioned the emitter was far away so that could possibly be related. The built in WiFi itself is pretty good, but based on my experience I'd advise others to keep their emitters closer to the player than I did (he upped a bar but was still able to load Nexflix & Youtube quickly for that). I tested this on my region B drive and it worked really well. I was able to switch it back to A and play the US disc, then switch back to B and it continued playing. There doesn't seem to be a limit to the number of switches, but just in case I'll try not to overwhelm the player. Some functions are not available with this player, such as B. the zoom function, so I would recommend others to do their research before buying. firmware updates. If you receive a document claiming otherwise, I would advise you to contact that particular seller and avoid any kind of firmware update. I wasn't prompted to update anything at this point, so the region switch still works. If there are any complications (like some of the stories mentioned here about Revain where it appears the player will stop working over time) you'll have to deal with Bombay and not Sony for the changes made, so stay tuned to date they contain only one case. Heck keep everything, I believe you must put everything (including literature and remote) in the original packaging if you need to send it back for repair or replacement. I hope this player lasts a long time, but so far I'm satisfied.
