My son finds it very difficult to switch from one activity or task to another. I used the timer on my phone but he still got angry a lot and said my phone was lying. This timer provides a simple and consistent visual indication of elapsing time. It has three double beeps that are loud but not so loud as to affect noise sensitivity. If you have someone whose sensitivity is stronger than my son's, you can turn off the sound entirely and the visual red time will still decrease over time. It has a handy built-in lid/stand so you can cover your face when not in use. (Which I would recommend as the red part is just a thin piece of plastic that can easily break if not handled with care. I wouldn't let a small child tamper with it unsupervised.)
