Imperfect Manufacturing

So the galactic minds who designed this placed the mounting bolts 17.5" apart so they wouldn't directly fit the standard 16" apart studs. A minor annoyance maybe, and probably better to install on a piece of plywood. followed the principle "measure seven times, cut once"). started to assemble, pulled out the bubble level and found it was a little wrong. So I had to turn the plywood mount a bit to align the hanging board, now the plywood board is a little crooked next to the door frame and I'm annoyed with how it looks. Confused where I went wrong. I put my spirit level between the screw holes in the folding board and found that THESE weren't even there. This is where I made a mistake, basing my measurements on an incorrect assumption about the symmetry of the hanging board itself. read on, well, it's 2020) When I take a closer look, all the other little deviations really annoy me. Most obvious, the right finger pocket is 3/4" deep and the left is 1 1/4". One of the screws sticks out much further than the one on the other side, although they are all tight. I think they probably didn't sand the back evenly, so everything on the front is a little off. Anyway, it's mostly quibbling, as long as the goal goes, it gets the job done. It has some good triggers and is basically what I was looking for. The lower slopes are really steep, so they'll have to work until then. The top cans can be used as chamfers if kept a little lower. I don't think there's really any creams in there, but it's not what I wanted anyway. The texture is good and the binding matrix looks smooth. It's just a shame I didn't notice the asymmetry in it before installing it.
