The Vantrue SD card, and screen get extremely HOT🔥. After 2 minutes the excessive heat shuts the camera off. It also takes a considerable amount of time to power up the unit, per instructions. Due to the excessive heat generated, this product has the potential for an electrical fire if left unattended during intended use. The mounting base is NOT adjustable which creates a difficult angle for screen viewing depending on the windshield of your vehicle. The cameras do adjust, but only vertically. There is no option to purchase an additional mount for the camera to transfer the dash cam to another vehicle if needed. Has wifi capabilities, but needs Bluetooth for ease of data x-fer.Edit: 08/07/2022 After testing several variations of powering options and SD cards, the source of the excessive overheating is from both the cigarette lighter power cord provided with the camera and a bad Vantrue 256gb micro SD card. Upon receiving the OBD hardwire kit, the camera did not overheat without a SD card installed. The camera operated for 15 flawless minutes during this test. With the same Vantrue 256gb SD card and the OBD cord, the unit overheated again, proving the Vantrue SD card is faulty. The camera also overheated with the original power cord without a SD card installed. Currently waiting on a replacement SD card, a Samsung Evo 512gb. Vantrue does have an excellent customer service support, albeit the huge time difference being they're in China. Currently awaiting Vantrue's response to my latest correspondence with customer service. The exposure settings for the cameras are very helpful, especially for the rear facing 3rd channel camera. With dark limousine tint, the +2.0 exposure works to capture a very clear image. The touch screen is a great feature, and easily utilized to personalize the camera. This feature only took a few additional minutes to learn and program the camera. The instruction manual, which is included, and a rarity these days, is an easy read. Additional photos to follow when the camera system is completely installed. The optional OBD port power cord is definitely a simplified way to hardwire the dash cam for constant power to utilize the parking protection feature. I am also using an OBD splitter to keep the port open for vehicle engine monitoring and emissions purposes. The Vantrue app allows camera setting options, viewing of captured video and photos via smartphone or tablet. However, the app only allowed changing the camera option once using my cellphone, not allowing any other viewing option if personalizing the features. Using the app via tablet, all system settings are available and easy to use. Overall, even with the remedied overheating issue, the Vantrue S2-3ch has the potential to be a fantastic dashcam.👍
