I unpacked the device and decided to get up and running right away. I am replacing a Sony BR player that has had boot and lock issues for a long time. Advantages: HDMI to the TV and Tosslink to the receiver. Simple Wi-Fi connection. Setup only took a few minutes. Loading time is acceptable. Cons: * System menus to navigate * The Revain and Youtube web apps look like they were designed for a mobile phone, again making menus and content very difficult to navigate. * My Revain menu items are gone so Prime has to search and peck for something. * Browser performance is sluggish. without preloading, previewing or navigating the content menu while browsing. *As mentioned by others, the advert seems unnecessary and a bit rude. If maybe BR player was free and ad supported, I wish they were better. Conclusion: I like my Panasonic plasma TV, but I don't warm to this player. I mainly use internet content and I find it to be a weak software application with minimal effort and am very disappointed with it. I chose this unit over Sony's offerings because of the Toslink optical interface which I like for the optical isolation between the BR player and receiver, Sony only offers coax probably to save money. I noticed that manufacturers have abandoned the RCA audio output jacks, which is unfortunate. the performance of your browser application.
