As an avid photographer with over 10 years experience in both film and digital photography, after reading many other reviews I have to say the following: 1. Stop buying this lens Canon "L" or compare Nikon "G"". The price of this lens is less than half the cost of professional lenses. Did you really think this lens was made to challenge premium lineups? 2. Stop the Pixel -Snooping your images. Your photographic and artistic skills will not be limited by the lack of perfectly sharp images at 100% crop. Other than that, this lens is just great for the price. It's incredibly well built and feels solid in the hand, and its Zoom range of 28-300mm makes it the perfect road lens for full-frame cameras. The lens is pretty sharp in the 28-200mm range, sel bst at the widest aperture. The lens can still produce VERY usable images in the 200-300mm range, but with noticeable chromatic aberration and reduced sharpness (at 100% crop). These imperfections can easily be corrected with a simple post-processing, and the photos still look presentable. If you're looking for a versatile full-frame travel lens that won't break the bank, this lens is the perfect choice.
