The incline function is useless or maybe I'm stupid
The incline function of this device is analogue and has no preset incline gradients to choose from. You must have a known target distance determined at the laser level, and then lower the receiver the exact inch/cm required to match the desired grade. You can then proceed to set the drain/level slope. I bought this to adjust the incline myself but couldn't figure out how to do that with this device. However, super reliable build quality and accuracy. If you're doing level basics or have 2 guys, that's great.
