UPDATE: Returning it due to the insane heat it produces. I was waking up 2-5 times a night to change because I was drenched.l and having to wash everything every night. I started changing my diet and called my doctor, got bloodwork done, referred to all kinds of specialists and even thought I had early menopause! NOPE! Just the blanket. I told my daughter I had to return it and she said "oh yeah, it's too much at night." Sadly, still on the look for something cool AND soft :( .Original review: I have been trying to find a replacement for a comforter I bought at Bloomingdales about 15 years ago and nothing had come close. I gave up for a few years and thought I would look again. I still can't believe I found something so close to my dear old comforter. I have sensory issues and so does my daughter, so "soft" is not soft for us. We use modal and certain high quality bamboo bedding and pjs because we're so sensitive to textures. Anyway - don't hesitate if you have a kiddo that has occupational therapy needs. This may be it :) I haven't checked the washing instructions yet but I normally wash everything in hot water which makes things softer and obviously hygienic.
