Let's face it, you can't get a great native 1080p projector for less than $100 new. This is a nice little projector to use in my room with my little Ikea lampshade and take it to the backyard to watch movies outdoors. I needed a small size because unfortunately I have to place the projector right next to my bed to get a big enough screen to fit in my Ikea pull down curtains. The built-in speakers surprised me at how good and loud they sound. 55 is a good volume level for my room, but in the backyard I use 75-100 depending on the film. The image is technically usable in a lighted room, but personally I wouldn't be able to use it that way. I'm going to buy a portable AC battery to have wireless movie nights in my backyard.
