This fan is very nice, love the dark wood finish. My husband installed it himself, although he called customer service a couple of times with questions. He said the customer service representatives are very, very helpful. It was also possible to install it on the wall with a fan switch. This fan is very quiet. It has great airflow and a classic, very comfortable, understated look that goes with the darker woods and mahogany furniture I have in my living room. We have 8ft ceilings and the cozy fan works great in our living room. Since our ceilings aren't high enough to use pole ceiling fans, this compact fan is perfect. I also like that it has a wall switch and no retractable chains, so you don't have to sit on a stool and pull chains just to turn it on or off. It also has variable speed, from low to high, which is great.
