We are satisfied with this lamp. We installed it in our 10ft bathroom above our shower. It definitely brightened up the room and provided enough light for tasks like shaving legs. We bought a bright white that creates a sort of institutional lighting with a white bathroom. If I were to buy again, I would definitely prefer a warm light to this colder one. The light is too bright to be comfortable to look at, but not too bright in the bathroom and shower area that we were trying to illuminate. It's a small light source, but it illuminates the entire shower room evenly - that was our goal. These lamps should last a long time. I hope that's true as lightbulbs are not interchangeable. I would also like to mention that the white surface of the lantern is about 5 1/2 inches in diameter. The entire fixture (including the bronze rim) is approximately 7 inches wide. My husband said the installation was pretty easy. If he were to suggest an improvement it would be to slot these holes for the screws you turn. I hope that makes sense. He said it would improve it and make it easier to get the screws in because that was the only part he found difficult. He had to use longer screws than intended, but that was due to the unusual installation situation, not the light. Update: OK, I changed my mind about the color of the light. We find this light helps us wake up in the shower in the morning - less "sleepy". So if I had to buy another one, I would choose white light again. We; However, we will be putting it on a separate switch from our other fixtures so that it doesn't "collide" with our other fixtures in the bathroom. This way we can enjoy the "wake me up” effect of this light first thing in the morning without sacrificing for the rest of the day the warm, inviting atmosphere that we have worked so hard to create with the other lights in our bathroom .
