Veru nice construction

Lego knows how to surprise. The company's designers do everything to make even the smallest set interesting for the game. They put creative effort into the design and plot of each constructor. I recently bought a small Lego City 60284 "Roadwork Vehicle" model for my child, which also includes construction equipment and minifigures.

It should be noted that at first I just expected to buy the missing parts for the Qbrix Classic free art kit. To build vehicles from it, wheels were required. I took two models from compatible designers - the original Lego City and its analogue Sluban. The price of this Lego in Magnit was 419 rubles. In other stores it is more expensive, but analogues do not differ much in cost. For example, an all-terrain vehicle "City of Masters" in a box of similar sizes costs 600 rubles. And for 1099 rubles you can already get a decent Lego set with a lot of details, but I do not regret that I chose this one. It also contains original objects and a plot.

From the designer it is proposed to assemble a construction machine - a mini-dumper on a self-propelled chassis. Such mini-dump trucks are widely used in construction, utilities and agriculture. The car comes with a few extra Lego bricks, two traffic cones, a wheelbarrow, a shovel, a "Repair" sign and two figures.

The main character is a worker in a helmet, he is also a tractor driver, an operator of construction equipment. Can sit in the dumper cab or walk around the construction site, setting signs and wielding a shovel.

The second figurine is a rat, which touches me. Lego designers guessed to put such an ambiguous creature in the set. What is the rat doing here? Crawls out of the ground, disturbed by construction work, does not miss the opportunity to gnaw on the cable. Or maybe he's just waiting for a new house to be built so he can move into it. As it is commonly called in zoology, a synanthropic species. But it is also probable that this is our worker's pet rat. He was lonely, he got himself a pet, and now the rat accompanies him everywhere.

Clear instructions in the form of a brochure help to assemble the model and additional items. The main part of the parts is distributed in two bags, only the chassis and cab are unpacked in the box.

Four wheels with rubber tires are attached to one solid plate. On the one hand, it is easier and more reliable. On the other hand, it is not possible to widen the track or lengthen the wheelbase when building your own models.

By the way, many real mini-dumpers have an articulated frame in order to increase maneuverability and maneuverability, while the Lego toy has a one-piece box-shaped frame.

In total, the set contains 58 elements. The car is simple and easy to assemble.

The stated age of users is over 4 years old. Our two-year-old child is still early, but I think a four-year-old can handle it. A two-year-old son can only play with the collected things.

The rat does not need to be collected - it goes with one item. It has two holes on the bottom that it can attach to the pins of Lego blocks. The figure of the driver consists of the head, torso, arms and legs, a helmet is put on the head. Moreover, the torso is already assembled, arms are installed. The sign and cones are attached to the stands. A single wheel is mounted on a wheelbarrow.

The construction dumper moves freely on fairly large wheels. The tipper body is tilted forward, fixed in different positions thanks to the likeness of a ratchet mechanism, firmly hinged at the edge of the platform.

The cab can also recline, making it easier for the driver to get in and out. The roof is topped with an orange flashing beacon.

Additional 1x3 and 2x2 units can be transported in a wheelbarrow or dumper.

With such a set of items, you can already play a scene from the life of a worker. And now let's see what we can make if we add details.

Lego analogues produced under the Qbrix and Sluban brands were involved. The Qbrix Classic has a large number of standard bricks, while the Sluban has articulated joints. Taking selectively the necessary parts from there and using a self-propelled chassis from Lego, we design a new construction machine - an excavator.

We take the wheeled chassis that Lego offers us as a basis, slightly modify it to install a turntable.

We assemble the platform from standard rectangular blocks. In the middle there should be a 2x4 block with a down tube.

A washer with a pin is mounted on the undercarriage, around which the installed platform rotates. And the squares on the sides perform two functions at once: they do not allow the inverted block with the washer to fall out of the socket and fix the platform in the transport position. It is enough to press the platform from above so that it enters the stopper, and lift it so that it can rotate 360 degrees.

The Lego set is almost completely used. The cab, bevels with air intakes, a frame with wheels, a steering wheel, a dump body, which became part of the bucket, were used.

The most responsible node trill with handle and bucket. The hinges are taken from the Sluban jeep. Of course, parts from the Lego Technic line would be most effective here, which convey the scheme of operation of complex mechanisms well, but I build from what I have at hand.

The excavator even has headlights. The boom, arm and bucket move like real ones, the platform rotates, so the design is especially interesting for the child.

I cannot fail to note the high quality and strength of the connection of Lego blocks - both with each other and with their counterparts. The parts are made of hard ABS plastic, do not smell of chemicals, the surfaces are perfectly smooth. In addition, Lego has long laid the foundation for the standard of block designers, which allows you to connect parts from different sets, and he found many imitators who produce fully compatible analogues.

From three or four small sets, you can assemble one large item or furnish the game well.

Since the parts were still left, I decided to make a dump truck in addition to the excavator. Now the truck transports blocks, traffic cones, a wheelbarrow and a rat in the back. The animal proudly sits on a high board.

Sleight of hand and no cheating. With light movements, a jeep with a trailer turns into a three-axle dump truck, and the former mini-dump truck becomes an excavator. The principle of folding blocks is the same as when tying bricks in construction. The structures will be strong if the blocks are connected in different directions.

Lego City 60284 contains a lot of stuff. It has parts to build cars, as well as minifigures and accessories to make the gameplay even more fun.

In the future, perhaps, we will purchase other Lego constructors. I really want to smoothly move to the Technic series. By the way, I looked on the Internet to see what sets the company produced in the 1960s and 1970s. Very interesting ones too. Suitcases full of parts in different shapes and colors. Blocks, plates, planks, wheels and pulleys were laid out in compartments. Models of trains and planes, cars and trucks, structures and robots came out of such cases of the System series. Along with children's kits, adult kits were advertised for visual design. I also like the Kingdom of the Knights and Harry Potter series. But of course, machine parts fit together better than decorative items tied to specific items.

Disadvantages ... What could be the disadvantages of Lego? These are the perfect constructors. Develop fine motor skills and creativity. True, there is a risk of losing small details. After the game, you have to sort the elements so that you can then reassemble the original models. And of course, children should be big enough when they are no longer putting things in their mouths and throwing them around. Lego sets, like it or not, need an equipped play space. I recommend Lego City 60284, especially for lovers of construction equipment.
