Review on Insignia NS-WBRDVD2 Blu Ray DVD Player with Wi-Fi: Enhance Your Home Entertainment Experience! by Russ Charmin

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good for regular Wi-Fi Blu-ray - Poor remote control

I owned this unit and used it as my primary Blu-ray player for 2 years. I have never had any problems with the device itself. As a disc player it worked well and played all the movies I tried to play (mostly from Blockbuster or Redbox). Wi-Fi worked well with my home network. However, this is a regular Blu-ray player. It only supports Netflix, Pandora and CinemaNow (which I've never used). Pandora works pretty well and is a good option to play music through your TV/audio system. I also used Netflix with this player and it worked pretty well too. Movies streamed well and the interface was pretty easy to use. If you're looking for a device that connects to Facebook, Twitter or YouTube, this isn't the device. But as a simple internet connected Blu-ray player, it has been helping me for 2 years. The only criticism is the remote control. I thought it was terrible and that is the reason for the 3 star rating. The buttons had to be pressed very hard for the device to work, and there was always a lag when pausing, playing, and fast-forwarding movies. It wasn't so bad that it couldn't be used, but definitely enough to be a nuisance. However, if you can find this for less than a hundred dollars and are looking for a wireless internet Blu-ray player, this device might be the budget option for you.
