So I've had this hammer for almost 4 weeks now. I noticed a few things about him: 1) Better balance. Because it's so light, they probably didn't have any trouble balancing it. 2) Strong face. It seems to have been going on for quite a while. More on that later. 3) Beautiful manicure. You don't have to guess where you'll end up hitting the nail, probably for the added control of being so light. Also, nails tend to only pop out when bent. Don't ask me why I drive bent nails. It's rough 4) Power. And I mean HOLY SHIT POWER! I've seen my hammer pound a 16D dual head in one hit. If you're asking what it is, I'd suggest getting something cheaper. It will probably be too big a hammer for you AND your bank account. 5) You might want to have a different hammer for the tools you need to hit. Why do you ask? Spring. about that face. I can't find any actual data on its composition. What I found was that it chewed through quite a bit of my hardened Mason chisel with little use. I couldn't beat him more than 300 times. It's almost half an inch shorter than before. All that efficiency means the energy goes elsewhere. And if you have a steel tool against concrete. Spring. Goodbye concrete. And goodbye steel tools. 6) Oh my god, this thing is effective. You'll REALLY feel the difference in how light the hammer's recoil is. You practically have to pay attention to the recoil to notice it. I am spoiled. So. If you (or someone you love) bang a lot and it's in your price range, get it. This is a solid investment. Just let them know so they never lose sight of it because they'll grow legs FAST. And if you're still wondering why you should do this - it's cheaper than doctor visits for what a steel hammer will do to you. Cons: too strong for use with other tools, side puller dies too quickly (use it only when you need it), has no side face for limited space, and people will want it for their tool chest at a discount of five fingers.
