The problem with this is the "flap" which is supposed to create a sort of lid/vent for floor cleaning, just sucks under the door and prevents it from closing. I tried cutting it horizontally but it was very difficult to hold it in place to cut a straight line. I ended up cutting this valve off and just using the bottom center strip. I didn't even try the side pieces because firstly they are TWO pieces and most importantly with this single valve the same thing will happen if I mount it from the inside (bonding between door and side frame). Putting it outside I doubt it will hold water in the shower. It's well made for what it is, but it doesn't work to my liking at all. BTTDB
